Little Lending Library Now Open

Little Lending Library Now Open

Through the combined efforts of school librarian Maureen McFarland and school nurse Ivonne Luchs, the dream of installing a book exchange box at Matoaka has become a reality! The “Little Lending Library” is a free book exchange that operates under the “take a book, leave a book” system. Anyone in the community can enjoy the free books and everyone is encouraged to keep the book exchange box well-stocked by donating new or gently used books that are appropriate for children in grades K-5. The beautifully crafted cedar book box, and soon to be installed sign, were created by Jeremy Knight of Burled & Knotted, a community woodshop offering monthly woodworking workshops and classes located in Newport News.
