Mrs. Bush’s Second Graders Love Flexible Seating!

Mrs. Bush is using flexible seating in her classroom for the second year and it’s going great!  Her classroom has the unique set up of several options for seating in which the students rotate through and find what works best for them.  Her seating includes regular desks, standing desks, a couch, recliners, scoop seats, wobble seats, and more!

Fun in Mattey’s Garden!

We are having so much fun in Mattey’s Garden this year! Fourth grade practiced cardinal and intermediate directions with relative location in a garden map scavenger hunt while Mrs. Schrack’s first graders pulled turnips and checked out the caterpillars.

Mrs. Lindquist’s Class Had a Mystery Skype!

Mrs. Lindquist’s first grade class had their first Skype of the year.  They video chatted with another first grade class to determine a mystery number.  What a great use of collaboration using technology!

Our First Week of School!

We had a great first week back at Matthew Whaley!  We escaped the classroom, had a book tasting, visited Mattey’s garden, did some yoga, and met new book buddies.  We are so excited for a wonderful year as Patriots!

It’s Going to Be a Great Year!

Thank you to all of the parents, students, and families that joined us for Open House on Thursday.  We are so excited for a new school year and we can’t wait to see all of our smiling little Patriots on Tuesday morning!
