Mrs. Coblentz’s third grade class participated in a soil investigation in science. Students brought in their own soil samples from their yard and the class made observations together to classify the soil. They also separated items into 3 categories: living, once living, and nonliving. Students viewed items with a magnifying glass and some items with a microscope (i.e. roots, sand, worm, and spider leg).
