Norge third graders came prepared for the BIG game – the Superbowl Of Learning, a.k.a. SOL. They’ve been spring training and showed their stuff during their reading SOL test. The next big game is May 22!  Go Team 3!

Norge Orchestra Solo Festival Participants

On Saturday, March 23, 93 fifth grade orchestra students converged on Matoaka Elementary School to participate in our WJCC Elementary Orchestra Solo Festival.  These students performed with great poise, confidence, and musicianship.  We are very proud to announce that 14 of these students were from Norge Elementary School and received a Superior rating on their performance.  They have been awarded a beautiful medal for their outstanding achievement.  Congratulations Norge Orchestra students!

Kindergarten students in Ms. Bellis’s class collected data about each other’s favorite ice cream flavors.  Then they graphed their findings as part of their math lesson for the day.

Poem in Your Pocket Day

Norge participated in Poem in Your Pocket day on April 17, 2019.  All students carried a poem with them during the day that they could take out and read to another student or teacher.  Some students even had a poem memorized and recited it!  These students went to the Book Cafe (Reading Room) to read their poems to Mrs. Walker, Norge Reading Specialist.

Celebrating Our Military Families

Norge students from active military families gathered in the cafeteria on April 16, 2019 for a snack and to spend time with each other in celebration of their service.

Talked to students about the duties of being a police officer and how his number one priority is to help keep the community safe. The students got to see his police car with the siren and lights!

Talked about what it is like to own a pet store and her own business. She talked about what types of items she sold at her pet store. She also talked about the rescue organizations she works with to help homeless animals.

Regional Sales Director – Airplanes
Talked about how his company builds airplanes and then he tries to sell those airplanes. He said it can take a client a few years to buy an airplane, once they begin the process. He has even sold airplanes to famous celebrities like Luke Bryan!

Talked about the importance of staying active and getting up and moving! She talked about eating healthy and taking care of your body. She also did some fun stretches and exercises with the kids.
