Celebrate WJCC Schools Hidden Heroes: Maintenance

Published On: August 14th, 2023

“The noblest service comes from nameless hands.” This quote speaks to the many teams working behind the scenes at WJCC Schools whose significant contributions matter to our mission of putting students first. Follow along as we recognize WJCC Schools Hidden Heroes. We applaud your contributions!

Effectively maintaining and operating schools’ physical building and systems means a more comfortable learning environment. In addition, properly maintaining systems equates to big cost savings for the division! That’s where this team comes in.

“Our role here is to assist the learning process mostly from behind the scenes,” said Thomas Anderson, trades foreman. “We want to provide a safe and comfortable building, because if teachers and staff don’t have to worry about the building conditions and temperatures, we feel they can focus on the students more.”

WJCC Schools carpenters, plumbers, HVAC, and electricians are hard at work over summer repairing, revamping, refurbishing and maintaining all 18 facilities and systems such as heating, plumbing, electrical and air conditioning. Thanks for getting and keeping our buildings in good working order so classrooms and offices are comfortable and clean for staff and students, not only this fall but all year.

This is the first in a series celebrating our Hidden Heroes at WJCC Schools. Stay tuned for more!
