City Council to receive Feasibility Study Report on March 11

Published On: February 26th, 2024

On Monday, February 26, WJCC Schools families and staff received an email from Dr. Herron referencing notice made by the City of Williamsburg about its upcoming City Council Work Session on March 11, 2024.

Good morning,

In June 2023, the City of Williamsburg announced its plans to conduct a feasibility study regarding the possibility of running its own school system separate from James City County. Late last week, the City of Williamsburg announced that the feasibility study report would be presented during the March 11, 2024, City Council Work Session.

The City has indicated “a public input process will occur in the weeks after the report’s release. No decision regarding the future of the joint school system will be made at this [March 11] meeting.”

As the presentation of the study and subsequent public input process unfolds, I will update you. In the meantime, we have and will continue to deliver the finest instruction, support, and services to our community. We ARE WJCC.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Sincerely,

Olwen Herron, Ed.D.

Superintendent
