Since our last COVID-19 related communication at the end of April, COVID-19 cases within our community have continued to rise. According to the CDC website, the community level for James City County is medium, representing case and hospitalization rates. WJCC Schools cases can be tracked on our data dashboard.

We have seen a constant uptick of cases since Spring Break. While levels are not as high as we experienced in January and February, the increase is again placing a strain our system while substitute teacher shortages persist.

With consistent warm weather and many exciting end-of-year celebrations around the corner, we ask for continued help to reduce the spread of illness in our community by practicing frequent handwashing and respiratory etiquette (ex. coughing/sneezing into the bend of your elbow). We encourage all eligible members of our community to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and booster as an additional layer of protection. As always, if you or your child are experiencing any symptom of illness, please stay home until you are healthy again. Thank you for your continued partnership.
