Diving into enriching watershed experiences at WJCC Schools

WJCC Schools 4th grade students and teachers took a deep dive into enhanced watershed experiences during this school year made possible through an outpouring of community support. Hands-on classroom lessons and culminating field trips to the James River Association’s education center wove science and history lessons together into rich lessons grounded in environmental stewardship.

Thanks to generous grants provided by Dominion Energy, Williamsburg Community Foundation and National Park Foundation, educators from the James River Association and National Park Service delivered interesting content linking classroom lessons to nature. Students are sure to remember their experiences and take pride in local natural resources for years to come.
