LHS winners with their trophies.

In March, Lafayette students participated in the Adam Smith Division of the Economics Challenge 2020, sponsored by the Council for Economics Education. Students competed in the Virginia chapter of the Governor’s Challenge for a chance to continue to the national competition held in May. Lafayette High School’s four-member team include John O’Neill (team captain), Blake Lowery, Mitchell Digges, and Alex Klee (missing) as represented in the photograph.  The team took home the win for DOE Region #2. Although the members did not qualify for national competition, the regional win in this category is a first for the school and the division, and they all look forward to another opportunity to compete at the state and national levels next year.
