Egg-citing Adventures During Farm to School Week
Third graders’ interest in a local farm operation recently grew. As Farmer Diaz from Mockingbird Farmstead posed and answered riddles, James River Elementary students learned about chickens, growing local veggies and mysteries on the farm. It was very egg-citing!
Farm to School Week at WJCC Schools is a time to explore fresh produce by tasting fruits and vegetables such as Virginia-grown apples and local sweet potatoes and watermelons in schools across the division. Thanks to KelRae Farm, Mockingbird Farmstead and Williamsburg Community Growers for supporting our students’ learning experiences with your fresh produce.
