School Start and End Times Shift for the 2022-2023 School Year

As was communicated earlier this week and in the interest of allowing families as much time to plan as possible, we are re-sharing shifts to the 2022-2023 school start and end times. These changes were discussed at Tuesday’s school board meeting.  Most significant is the shift for DJ Montague to the Tier 4 schedule.  The changes will allow more efficiency for our transportation department and support our goal to achieve higher afternoon on-time rates for middle and elementary schools. See the details along with ideas posed for the 2023-2024 school year.

Immunization Requirements for 22-23 School Year – Submit Proof of Immunization before School Starts

Immunization requirements recently changed (July 21, 2021) for all Virginia school-age students. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) requires immunizations of school age students at key milestones such as before starting pre-K, kindergarten, 7th grade, and 12th grade. Parents and guardians are asked to work with their healthcare providers to ensure students are up to date this summer.  Proof of immunizations must be shown at your child’s zoned school before the start of school this fall. Review the VDH’s full school and day care immunization requirements (English / Spanish). Please note, anyone “new to Virginia” may need added vaccinations to have students ready to start school this fall.

Registration is Now Open – for Next Year’s 5th Grade Music Centers Selections

The choice is for the full year. To make your child’s fifth grade music selection, complete this form by May 22.  Looking at this guide with your child may help explore the options. If you have questions as you consider your options, please contact your school’s music teacher.
