Free Meal Program Set to Expire

Published On: May 20th, 2022

For more than two years, the federal government funded a program that provided all students with access to free meals because of the pandemic. At this time, that program is set to expire. To receive free or reduced-price meals in the coming (2022-2023) school year, families must apply and qualify based on income.

By applying, a qualifying child may be eligible to receive other benefits or fee waivers. WJCC Schools will be sending all families more information after July 1 when the application is available. To learn more about the income eligibility going into effect July 1, 2022, see the USDA Child Nutrition Programs Income Eligibility Guidelines (2022-2023).
