Items on Board of Supervisors and City Council agendas

Published On: September 11th, 2023

On Monday, September 11, WJCC Schools families and staff received an email from Dr. Herron referencing the public agendas for upcoming meetings of the James City County Board of Supervisors and Williamsburg City Council.

“Several weeks ago, I committed to maintain regular contact with James City County and City of Williamsburg officials as they considered the future structure of the school system, and to regularly update you,” Herron said. “You may remember in early June, the City of Williamsburg announced it would “study alternatives to [a] joint school system” (City statement). James City County voted in July to “terminate the Contract for the Joint Operations [of the School Division] between James City County and the City of Williamsburg” (County statement).

County and city agendas are available at the following links:

“No matter the actions this week or over the coming year, we will continue to serve our students, our families, and our community to provide a top-quality education to all students,” Herron said.
