Hands-on experiences add up to lasting impressions. James River Elementary third graders shopped for locally grown veggies while putting their math skills to the test. From weighing produce to calculating the total amount spent, students mastered math skills! They even tasted sweet peppers during their shopping spree. Thanks to WJCC Schools Foundation for funding the mini farm stand and Mockingbird Farmstead and Williamsburg Community Growers for supplying fresh produce. All third graders at the school will visit the farm stand several times this year.
