Thanks to a partnership with Williamsburg Health Foundation, WJCC Schools offers before and after-school Challenge Clubs through the School Health Initiative Program (SHIP) at all elementary and middle schools.
More than 350 students are participating in running clubs this fall, setting goals and training to compete in the Sentara Sleighbell 5k. Running clubs are just one of the SHIP Challenge Clubs available at WJCC Schools to build healthy habits.
Students are challenged to develop lifelong skills and habits that could lead to healthy lifestyles. Thanks to club sponsors, challenge clubs vary by location and season. From gardening, yoga, and martial arts to cooking, ballet and running clubs, students set individual goals and celebrate healthy accomplishments. Check out the J. Blaine Blayton running club below and learn more about SHIP Challenge Clubs at this website.
