Eligibility Criteria

Soroptimist International of Williamsburg is an international organization of business and professional women, whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls. There will be three scholarships awarded in 2022. The first place recipient will receive $3,500.00. There will also be two runner up scholarships awarded for $1,500.00 each and are offered to graduating senior women from Lafayette, Bruton, Jamestown, Warhill and Kecoughtan High Schools. These four schools represent the high schools in the areas that our members live and work in.

The recipients must be planning to attend a four-year college or university, or one of the certified state-supported community colleges with the intention of transferring to a four-year college. The students must be in good academic standing and demonstrate a financial need.

Students need the required references, essay and transcripts and we ask that those documents also be sent to the email address and clearly marked as to the applicant’s name.

*Scholarships offered by organizations other than WJCC are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Williamsburg-James City County School Division, School Board, or Superintendent.
