School Board Notes – Aug. 18: FY28 Budget Planning

At its meeting Tuesday, the School Board approved the Fiscal Year 2028 planning calendar. While we are just two months into FY27, the FY28 budget plan outlines milestones in the budget preparation process, including:

• Oct. 9: Joint meeting with City of Williamsburg and James City County to consider revenue projections
• Nov. 10: Superintendent’s presentation of proposed Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)
• Dec. 4: Joint meeting with City of Williamsburg and James City County to discuss CIP
• Feb. 2: Superintendent’s presentation of proposed FY28 operating budget
• Feb. 5: Joint meeting with City of Williamsburg and James City County to discuss FY28 operating budget
• March 2027: School Board consideration of proposed FY28 operating budget
