At its September 15 meeting, the School Board approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Year-End Financial Report and proposed commitment of fund balance. The action dedicated the estimated FY26 year-end surplus of $5.2 million to WJCC’s healthcare reserve fund. As a self-insured organization, the healthcare reserve fund was established to help address future healthcare cost obligations and strengthen the Division’s long-term financial position.
The School Board also received Dr. Keever’s recommendation for attendance area redistricting. Dr. Keever outlined his review process: considering building utilization and current and projected movement, approved development, feeder pattern cohort alignment, Capital Improvement Program investments, data collected across three surveys and community conversations, and more. Dr. Keever recommended the Steering Committee’s recommended maps, with no further change. If adopted, Dr. Keever will direct staffing allocations to meet student needs and a provision for current juniors (Class of 2028) to enroll in their current high school or rezoned high school, with WJCC transportation available for either selection. Review redistricting information online.
