At its September 19 meeting, the School Board received a preliminary FY23 year-end financial report. Unexpended funds, per our operating contract, will be returned to James City County and the City of Williamsburg, 90 percent of which will be designated in a “Future School Use” account. The School Board also recognized the WJCC Schools finance team for its efforts in earning a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The recognition granted by the Government Finance Officers Association when a governmental entity’s “annual comprehensive financial reports … evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.” Review the meeting agenda here.
