WJCC Schools strategic goal 2.6 focuses on implementing effective transition programs and activities designed to build a sense of belonging, social connection, and academic engagement. We are seeking volunteers (parents, educators, students, and community members) to help co-design student transition program enhancements at the division level. Ad hoc work groups will meet monthly in August, September, and October to review current practices and research ways to support students moving from one level to another. Team members will collaboratively identify recommendations for the following:

  • Level Up Transition Day (students visit the schools they are moving on to)
  • Summer Transition Programs (for identified students)
  • Transition Readiness & Responsiveness Practices
  • Peer Mentor Workshops
  • Family Academies
  • Post-Secondary Planning Supports (for graduating seniors)

Visit our Engage with Us portal to express your interest. If you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please contact Alaina Trott, Supervisor for Organizational Development and Equity, at Alaina.Trott@wjccschools.org.
