Lafayette and Warhill High Schools’ competition cheer teams have earned a place in the state championships, taking place in Richmond on Nov. 9. While this is the first time that two Williamsburg-James City County Schools have advanced to state competition at the same time, both schools have experience at this level of competition. This is the second year in a row that LHS’ team will go to state competition. It is the second time in the school’s history that WHS’ team has qualified for state competition. All teams in the Bay Rivers District were invited to compete at the regional level, but only the top two teams in each division advance to the State Championships. Congratulations LHS and WHS!
