Williamsburg-James City County Schools has appointed Dr. Daniel Miani as principal of Lafayette High School for the 2019-2020 school year. Dr. Miani has been serving as acting principal at LHS since April 2019 in addition to his role as the secondary math coordinator for the school division.
Dr. Miani has served in education for over 18 years including positions as a nationally certified tutor, high school math teacher and athletic coach in Virginia and Louisiana, and assistant principal at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach. He joined WJCC Schools as the assistant principal of Lafayette High School in July 2017 and was appointed secondary math coordinator a year later.
“Having the opportunity to return to Lafayette High School, where I began my tenure with WJCC Schools, is a blessing,” said Daniel Miani, principal of Lafayette High School. “The students and staff are simply amazing. I look forward to working with them to support their individual success as well as increasing growth and achievement for the school as a whole.”
Dr. Miani earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Millersville University, a Master of Education from Regent University, and a Doctor of Education in K-12 school leadership, also from Regent University.
“Dr. Miani brings extensive knowledge and experience to the principalship of Lafayette.
