The WJCC Schools Class of 2021 outperformed their peers in Virginia and the nation on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Our students’ total mean score of 1183 was higher than the nationwide mean score of 1060 and the state’s 1151 average. In reading and writing, WJCC students’ score was 70 points higher than the national average. In math, the division’s score was 52 points higher than the national average.

From 2018 to 2021, the number of WJCC’s graduating seniors taking the SAT decreased significantly primarily because of the pandemic and the fact that many universities waived SAT requirements.
