Williamsburg James City County Schools’ Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cathy Worley received an unexpected surprise during a routine meeting Thursday, Nov. 7. Virginia Senator Monty Mason presented Senate Resolution No. 529, commending Dr. Worley and exceptional school administrators “who exceed the high expectations of the profession and enable their students to succeed in and out of the classroom.”
The resolution, sponsored by Sen. Mason and Sen. Tommy Norment, highlights Dr. Worley’s recognition as the 2018 Outstanding High School Principal of the Year by the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals. In addition, the resolution acknowledges Dr. Worley’s exceptional work while serving as principal for Jamestown High School and throughout her 28 years in public education. Dr. Worley was appointed Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction in July, 2018.
