Community Input

A second community survey is now open to gather feedback on two middle school redistricting options. At their January 2, 2018, work session, the School Board determined that two middle school maps will be considered for adoption:

  • Map 2 – a map that was presented in November but was modified to include a portion of Ford’s Colony that was previously split
  • Map 4 – a new map that was developed as a result of a School Board request to draft maps that brought the socio-economic percentages of all four middle schools closer to the division average

WJCC families, staff and community members are encouraged to review the two maps under consideration and complete the online survey. The survey will be open until noon on January 12, 2018. Results will be shared with the Board and presented publicly at the January 16, 2017, regular meeting.

The School Board intends to adopt a middle school zone map at their February 6, 2018, work session. The new middle school zones will take effect with the opening of James Blair Middle School in September 2018.

There will be no changes to current high school attendance zones.
