Our Student Council Association officers and representatives volunteered their time this season to help raise money for the Salvation Army. They braved the cold outside our local Farm Fresh to spread cheer and good will this holiday season.

Fourth Grade Visits Colonial Williamsburg

Fourth graders are studying colonial Virginia and recently visited our state’s second capital – colonial Williamsburg.  It was a fun and educational experience!

Gayle Agee Visits First Grade

Local author, Gayle Agee, visited our 1st grade classrooms to share her poetry book, HOLIDOGS.  She read several poems from the book and introduced her big stuffed Holidog to the class.  We had a wonderful time brainstorming names for him and lighting up his Christmas tie!

Relay for Life 2018

Please join our team (Stonehouse Striders) and help support Relay for life. Team members can be staff, students, parents, family members, and friends. All are welcome.

The theme this year will be Carnival for a Cure. More information to come.

Unity Day

Stonehouse students and staff celebrated Unity Day as a part of our schoolwide anti-bullying program. We wore orange to represent our common commitment to being respectful. All were invited to sign a pledge of respect and agree to use stop, walk, and talk strategies in the event that disrespect occurs.

Disability Awareness Month

Check out our special education team celebrating Disability Awareness Month.  The shirts say to “Find the Ability in Disability”!

Author Victoria Jamieson Visits Stonehouse

Victoria Jamieson came to visit SES on October 19th.  She has written the New York Times best seller graphic novel, Roller Girl, The Great Pet Escape series, and Olympig.  She inspired us by describing how she writes about events from her childhood.  We were also amazed by the ease in which she created numerous excellent drawings for SES.
