VA PTA Reflections Contest

Relay for Life 2018

After weather postponed it back in May, Relay for Life finally kicked off on September 28-29th. Thank you to all of team members and participants. What a great event for a great cause.

Sea Star Charts

All our classrooms work hard to demonstrate our school rules S.T.A.R.S. (Safety, Tolerance, Attitude, Respect, Strive). As they show these qualities they check off stars on their classroom charts in order to earn a classroom reward. We’ve had a number of classes already fill their first chart. Check out Ms. Jessie’s class as they completed their first chart!

Fall Screening for Gifted Students

The Williamsburg-James City County Program for Gifted Students provides services for formally identified gifted students in grades K-12.

Referrals for fall screening for K-4 students, not previously screened or new students, will be accepted through October 15th. Referrals can be made by a parent, teacher, or staff member. 5th grade high performing students that are new to the division can also be screened.

If you are interested in learning more about the program or would like to discuss the assessment process contact David Poon, Gifted Resource Teacher, by phone at 566-4300, or by email at: norman.poon@wjccschools.org

If you would like to a referral form, you may download it from: https://wjccschools.org/departments/student-services/gifted-education/

All referrals for fall must be received by October 15th.

Welcome Back!

Students marched into school bright and early on September 4th for the first day of the 2018-2019 school year.

Field Day 2018

Tuesday, 6/5, Stonehouse Sea Stars got to let loose on our annual Field Day. Too much rain the week before had us hold off an extra day on Monday when the fields were still too wet. Tuesday’s weather was perfect. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who were able to rearrange their schedule at the last minute and help. An extra big thank you to Mrs. Heath and Mrs. Bruce for putting together such an awesome event.

Stonehouse Soccer Team

Our Stonehouse Soccer clubs finished their season on May 12th. Both teams (ages 6-8 and ages 9-11) enjoyed the thrill of playing their final game inside Wanner Stadium. Thank you to coaches Kline and Brown. Thank you to the partnership between William and Mary athletics, Virginia Legacy Soccer, and WJCC Schools. And mostly, thank you to the parents and players for a great season.
