The mission of Toano Middle School, in partnership with home and community, is to provide a safe learning environment that promotes the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of our diverse student body while challenging them to become and to excel as lifelong learners, independent thinkers, respectful individuals, and responsible citizens.
The Toano Middle School Staff is excited about the implementation of Effective School-Wide Discipline (ESD). ESD is a state initiative that is designed to create common language as we work to support and continue to build a positive learning community. In conjunction with this initiative, we will be emphasizing our new school theme, P.R.I.D.E.:

We look forward to collaborating with you and appreciate any feedback. This program will be fully implemented over a course of two-three years under the guidance of our site-based ESD Team.
