• Our Lions Football team will be playing tonight at Wanner Stadium, at 7:00 PM, against Lafayette in the 4A Region Semi Final – Region Admission cost is $8 (Lions are the away team)

  • Lions Basketball Cheer Tryouts will be held in the commons next Wednesday, November 14, Thursday, November 15 and Friday, November 16, from 2:30 until 4:30. You must have a completed VHSL sports physical in order to tryout.

 

  • Anyone interested in trying out for Indoor Track are invited to an interest meeting on Monday, November 12 during AEP (@ 7:20AM) in Lecture Hall.  See Coach Mullen for more detail.
  • There will be a Soccer Interest Meeting today at 2:30 in Room 2106. Any students interested in playing soccer for Warhill High School this year are asked to attend.
  • NHS is hosting a canned food drive next week from November 12 thru November 26. The boxes will be distributed to first block A day classes. The cans will be donated to FISH.

  • This weekend’s sporting events are:

Varsity Football will host Heritage High School on Saturday, at 2:00 PM at Wannner Stadium in the 4A Region Quarter Finals. Admission to the game is $8 for students.

Varsity Volleyball will play in the VHSK State Tournament Quarter Finals on Saturday against Hanover High School at 3:30 PM at Hanover High School.

Lions Roar Theater Company will compete in the 4A Region Theatre Festival at Lafayette High School on Saturday at 12:00.

On November 11, America honors the service and sacrifice of men and women in our armed forces. Originally proclaimed Armistice Day in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I, it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to include all American veterans and recognize their service to our country.

* Warhill Pride – Think you have what it takes to be a part of The Warhill Step Team? The team is looking for a few more members to add to its ranks. There will be an informational meeting in 2104 during AEP Friday morning. See you there!

* Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors:

If you did not have your picture taken during September, you need to have it taken on the makeup day on Friday, November 9th. You will receive a reminder about your time slot.

November 9th is the last day to take a senior portrait at school. They are $20, and you must sign up for a time on the door of room 2122. If you already signed up, you will receive a pass for the 9th.

* Boys Varsity Basketball tryouts will be at Quarter Path gym today from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Those trying out and need a ride, Bus #111 will leave after school from the bus loop. You must have a VHSL physical form on file with the AD in order to try out for any athletic team – no physical = no try out!

* Varsity Field Hockey will travel to the US Field Hockey National Training Center in Va. Beach tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 6 to take on Great Bridge in the VHSL State Tournament Quarter Finals at 6pm. Good Luck Lady Lions!

* Attention Warhill Students – winter sport tryouts begin on Monday, November 5 for Girls & Boys Basketball, Wrestling and Swimming. You must check with the head coach on the time and location of the tryouts. Anyone wishing to participate in tryouts must have a completed VHSL physical form dated after May 1, 2018 on file with the Athletic Director. Indoor Track try outs will begin on Monday, November 12 after school at 2:30pm.

* Attention 10th graders. The Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS) is now accepting applications for a free online course focusing on the science, engineering, and technology integral to current missions at NASA Wallops Flight Facility and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport. Interested 10th graders with a 2.7 or above GPA can pick up application information in the counseling suite. Online applications must be completed by November 11.

* Attention Warhill Students: tickets for Friday’s football game will be sold during all three lunches today for $3.00 for Warhill students only. The price will be $6.00 at the game. Come out and support our Lions as they take on New Kent. Get there early and cheer on our Senior Football players, Cheerleaders, Student Trainers, Cross Country, Golf and Band members at the beginning of the game starting at 6:30pm. Kickoff is at 7:00pm.
