Greetings Warhill Families,

Wow! Has it been three weeks already? It’s so great to walk the hallways along with students and staff. Thanks to all our families, students and staff for making on campus learning possible. Attending school events definitely has reenergized me, and I encourage you to attend an event soon so you can say the same. The exuberance of these students is fantastic! #LionPrideLionProud

Here is information and updates for the week.

Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

Dr. C

VIRTUAL LEARNING DAY

Charge up your devices! The first virtual learning day of the 2021-22 school year is Oct. 1. Using Canvas and Zoom, students will participate in four hours of remote learning and activities. If your family needs internet access, please call the school’s main office right away to talk about options. Virtual learning times are listed below. Also, be on the lookout for communication from your child’s school or teacher.

  • High School: 7:20 – 11:35 a.m.
  • Middle School: 8:05 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Elementary Schools: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION:

The division is actively recruiting and training new bus drivers. Some will be behind the wheel next week. This will have an impact; however, greater action is needed to increase the time between bus runs for each school tier.

Monday, Sept. 20 – Thursday, Sept. 30, the division will pilot a 5–10-minute change to school starts and end times to give bus drivers more time to get from school to school. During that time, staff will monitor arrival and drop-off times and evaluate efficiencies. At the end of the two weeks, we will determine if the schedule change should remain in place until the end of the school year. The division is also consolidating some neighborhood bus stops to reduce the frequency that buses need to stop and start during the route. Students should plan to arrive at their bus stop 5-10 minutes earlier in the morning. Route information will be updated on the division website as soon as possible.

What are the temporary school hours? (Sept. 20 – 30)

Tier 1 – High Schools
Jamestown, Lafayette, and Warhill: 7:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

New Bell Schedule

*New Horizon bus times will remain unchanged*
