Christina Marshburn, Warhill Teacher of the Year!

Christina Marshburn WHS Teacher of the Year

Christina Marshburn embodies everything one would expect from a theatre teacher: she is poised, confident, and delightfully dramatic.  One can find Christina at school until late hours throughout the school year as she directs the school one act in the fall, guides students to direct their own one acts in the winter, and does everything under the sun related to directing the musical in the spring. This year, Mrs. Marshburn guided and mentored students as they wrote their own one act play on school shootings, a piece which moved many viewers to tears.  During the summer, she seeks opportunities to hone her craft by attending workshops and continues to work with local theatre students. Her commitment to the growth of her students inside the classroom, on the stage, and outside of the classroom is remarkable.  One of her most impressive qualities is her ability to draw students to the field of teaching.  Through her passion for theatre education and inclusive classroom setting, she demonstrates what it means to be a compassionate yet firm educator whose students rise to whatever task asked of them.

No Student Deliveries From Restaurants

As a reminder to parents and students, WJCC High Schools are closed campuses for lunch. Students, in addition, should not have lunch delivered from local restaurants during lunch blocks.  Families, please remember, you are always welcome to join your student for lunch at Warhill and bring lunch for both of you to enjoy.

Counseling Department Updates

Course Registration

Many students completed the course registration process this week for the 2019/2020 school year.  The counseling office is in the process of entering this information into VUE.  There a couple of things that WHS Counseling would like to share with you about course registration:

  1. Students and parents can log into VUE and make changes to course selections.   This option will close in VUE on March 4.
  2. Counselors will have individual meetings will all 11th graders during the month of March to go over graduation requirements, post-secondary options, and course selections for next year. Although the option to change course requests will be closed in VUE for students and parents, counselors still have the option to make changes on an as needed basis.
  3. All parents and students (any grade level) can request to see the school counselor if you have questions about course registration.
