Dear WJCC Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

It is an honor to serve as your new superintendent, and I am grateful for the warm reception and thoughtful partnership I have experienced across our schools and community. Over the past several months, I have had the privilege of listening intently—hearing from students in classrooms, speaking with staff in every school, meeting with families and community partners, and reviewing valuable feedback from surveys, focus groups, and engagement sessions. I am sincerely appreciative of every individual who took the time to share insights, hopes, and ideas. Your willingness to participate has shaped my understanding of who we are as a school division and where we aspire to go together.

The Superintendent’s Transition Plan reflects the collective wisdom offered throughout this process and embodies the guiding theme of our work ahead: United in Purpose, Inspired by Possibilities. This plan outlines the priorities and action steps that will guide our efforts over the next 18-24 months as we strengthen teaching and learning, enhance student experiences, and improve the systems that support our schools each day. Rooted firmly in Elevate ’28, our division’s strategic plan, the transition plan aligns our actions with a shared vision of pursuing excellence and championing the success of every student.

This document is intended to be more than a summary—it is a roadmap. It will help us monitor progress, remain accountable to one another, and keep our focus on the work that matters most. The action steps included here will be implemented in phases from November 2025 through June 2027, and I will provide periodic updates to the School Board and the public so that our community remains informed and engaged throughout our journey.

As we move forward, we will continue to be student-centered, collaborative, and strategic in our approach. I am inspired by the dedication of our educators, the strength of our partnerships, and the unlimited potential of our students. Together, we will build on the strong foundation already in place and take the next steps toward making WJCC Schools the premier school division in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
